To depict the memories of the construction of the Matsushiro Daihonei steeped in madness, and the suffering of the Korean people taken there.

Shirakawa was born in Kitakyushu, in 1948. Since returning to Japan from Europe in 1983, he has worked as a writer both in Japan and abroad. He also is involved in art criticism. His most recent work was “Art Museums, Zoos, and Psychiatric Facilities” (2010 Suiseisha). Shirakawa is searching for the possibilities for art in the post-capitalist society, while carrying out activities in rural areas.
